Ever since the the most recent update, Origin gives me a download failed error when it turns on and tries to update the game. When I cancel the error and try again it either fails again or Origin stops responding all together. It has been weeks now that I cant play the game because I cant update properly. The error says this "Windows blocked our attempt to downlod game content....When prompted, grant permission witin the User Account control pop-up" The grant permissions message never appears, and I have already allowed origin through my firewall and attempted to install the update with the firewall disabled entirely. I have windows 64 ultimate, I have updated to the latest version of Origin and reinstalled origin several times. Any help would be greatly apprieciated, and please dont tell me to try and reboot.....

I have found a solution to this problem for me, and I hope it helps you.I opened my task manager and went under processes and noticed about 5-6 instances of ActivationUI.exe running, I ended process on all of these and immediately would install the update, I hope this helps!

Once again do you people even bother to read the entire posting before offering advice? As I clearly stated in the first post of the thread, I have tried the with firewall disabled and anti-virus ect, I have tried reinstalling, I have tried every basic solution that one could think of and more.I have even uninstalled Battlefield 4 entirely and low and behold of course, I run into another problem with origin, everytime I try to download or install B4 from the DVD I get a "game installation directory invalid" error.When I try to change the file path in the Advanced settings tab, I change it to c/games and press ok, but nothing happens I just get a spinning mouse wheel indicating something is loading and then, Origin crashes. I cant even change a file path on this worthless program without it crashing!!My expirence with Origin from day one has been a complete disaster, I have never witnessed a program so horribly flawed, its a shame such good games are weighed down by this total crap program. As a result I have about 4 games that I cant even play because Origin never works. So please unless someone has an actual solution or real advice dont post on here just to tell me to turn my firewall off......I have been trying to fix this for months now MONTHS!!!

Ok,maybe this helps: press your wndows button and r then type in regedit ,search for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 4 and delete the folder. If you have windows 32 bit go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 4 and delete it. I am struggling with the same issues like you and maybe this helps.Greetings.

What windows do you have again? 😉 Do you run Origin buy right clicking it and pressing "run as administrator"?

Ahh sorry ment to say Windows 7 ultimate 64. And running as adminstrator does not help.

Hey megatr0n6, did you try doing a repair install of the game in Origin and then trying the update?

Or tried to Uninstall and Reinstall Origin. https://help.ea.com/article/manually-uninstalling-origin

Try using the built in windows tool to scan your harddrives for errors.

There is no fault in my harddrive, every other game I have works and installs perfectly fine, but I have had issues with installing on origin since day one, I am almost certain is Origin and my windows not working together for some reason.

I'm having pretty much the same problem here. Origin goes to update Battlefield 4, checks the files but downloads nothing, then gives me an error.

Now origin crashes everytime I start it, and it wont even pop up on screen half the time even though it says its running in the background, Origin is the biggest piece of **bleep** ever EA please get your heads out of your asses and start selling your game through steam so people dont have to put with this complete bull**bleep**!!
