Battlefield 5: WWII??

I actually prefer it to be the Korean War, which would be the 75th anniversary of the war, and it would be an untapped setting. But given the latest Easter Egg reveal that the game will be announced on 23 May, I couldn't help but notice what else happened on 23 May 1939: Adolf H. announced that he wanted to invade Poland on that same date. This invasion, which took place on 1 September 1939, is widely recognized as the start of WWII. Does that also mean that the game will be released on 1 September 2018? It seems to be too much of a coincidence.

Anyway, sorry if this thread doesn't belong, but I couldn't help speculate (again) on what the next BF game would be.

Let's hope that we won't get another WW 2 game. Still too soon after the whole WW 2 fad. The Korean War deserves a good game and there were maybe a handful of them. Vietnam would be fine, too.

Plenty of conflicts since the end of WW2, some locals, some bigger. Not a single minute of peace since...

  • lets hope its ww2... seems a natural progression from ww1... similar in gameplay but improved weaponry

  • So Trevor Noah of the Daily Show will be announcing it on May 23.

Battlefield V is set during WWII and the "V" is likely a reference to "V for Victory".

That date was intentionally chosen, and perhaps the game will also be released on the 1st of September 2018, as I predicted!!

  • Hmmmm... I guess Battlefield 6 will be the Korean War since it's a good segue and a newly, largely unexplored era in gaming.

  • I have a crazy theory that they've gone a different route, I could be wrong but I think theatre of war either refers to a new system that allows players to record battles for cinematic value e.c.t..

OR, and this is the thing. What if Battlefield 5 didn't just focus on one war, what if it spanned an entirety of wars from WW1 > WW2 > Vietnam > Present day.

I think this because of the way they mention Battlefield changing forever, theatre(s) of war makes me consider that it will be sort of a view on a war a war that we'll participate in.

The whole WW2 screenshot being to throw people off the scent.

Of course I could be wrong and most likely am, but its a theory none the less.
