"SOON" It's like 3 of 4 months of wait
Reveal trailer should be this week folks.
Almost official. The creators of the audio used on the reveal trailer have announced that there will be 2 game trailers revealed this week featuring their audio.

New important info for Battlefield 6:
1. Battlefield 6 is coming to next and last gen consoles.
2. Battlefield 6 is on track to release this year so there's no surprise there.
3. June will be the month of the reveal of Battlefield 6. Be ready everyone, the moment will come!
Enjoy!

I'm a little disappointed at a last gen version if true but I guess it's expected. If it had/has zero impact on the next gen titles ambitions and development process then it will be fine.
Honestly I can see the last gen version being terrible, it's gonna need to be so cut down and not just the graphics; level of destruction, player count, map size, it will be a whole lot worse than the leap from ps3 - ps4 for example.
My money is still on a November release, as long as it doesn't conflict with CoD or Halo it will be fine.
I've no idea why they would delay a reveal trailer tbh, unless they decided to show it at a specific event or maybe even change it because of the leaks? But hey ho we will get there in the end, cant wait! - 5 years ago
@CarbonCarl I am very dissapointed. I highly doubt that the impact of including last gen will be insignificant. This game will not be as good as it could've been is the feeling I have now if this is true. I really hope I'm wrong.
- 5 years ago@fisknyllet17 maybe the difference will be players count/map size. This has been done before in BF.

EAs bean counters will have been pushing them to include an old gen version.

But wait Tom Henderson was 90% sure BF6 would not support last gen consoles. Haha.
As of end of March 2021, there were 109 million PS4 users and 8 million PS5 users. (rough numbers)
If BF6 came out now and did not support last gen, they'd only have a base of 8 million users to sell to and that small starting base could very well mute the success of the game.
So from a sales perspective, EA will be smart to include last gen support if they release the game in the near term. Otherwise if they leave last gen out, they better wait to release the game when the PS5 installed base is much bigger.
It will be interesting to see which path they choose. I'm all for the game only supporting next gen consoles, but I'm pretty sure that will mean a delayed release.

I'm with you on this one. Just not sure last gen will be worth it.
Will be interesting to see if there will be an upgrade and progress transfer option, that is the only way I would get it on last gen. Otherwise, wait till I get a PS5.

I’m not sure what to expect tbh. They announced yesterday they’re taking full advantage of next gen consoles so they are using every bit of power next gen offers.
@Forkbeard84 Well it was Tom who said it’s now confirmed last gen as well, but no source stated. The problem with all of this is there is no official word about it which is frustrating. I just want to know what leaks are junk and what’s solid.
It makes sense to use last gen but the thing is it’s going to be like porting an Xbox One X game to an Xbox 360. If they’re taking full advantage of next gen can you imagine how bad the last gen version will be. Especially if it also caters to the non pro PS4 and Xbox S.
- 5 years ago@CarbonCarl I agree and think the last gen version would probably be terrible to play compared to the next gen version. The only reason for EA to support last gen is to increase their potential buyers for the game. I would vote to delay the game release, focus on next gen and release the game when the installed base of next gen consoles will support sales. It will end up being a much better game without having to tack on last gen support.

We already know last gen can support 64 players so I imagine last gen would just be the standard that Battlefield has been since it's inception. What I do worry about is that we'll have a situation like we had with Battlefield 3 where maps were designed for last gen and for the main version they just add a flag or two and call it conquest large.

Support for Linux kernel would be appreciated
