It is meant to be separate to BF so it could be firestorm or some small mode BF.

I’m not a big mobile phone gamer tbh, so unless it integrates with BF6 then I don’t think I’ll play it.
Interesting to see what they do tho. - ElliotLH5 years agoHero+
I'll play it for sure (may need to help people with problems) but I'm not a big mobile gamers myself either really.
Interesting move though - from what I gather CoD mobile is pretty popular.

My guess is Industrial Toys will port the free-to-play Battle Royale version of BF6 over to mobile.
Quite a few studios working on BF6. These are my guesses.
DICE Stockholm - $60 BF6 base game on PC and consoles. It will have the highest system requirements and really push next generation hardware. Last gen consoles will have a lower player count and lower frame rate.
DICE LA - free-to-play Battle Royale on PC and consoles available as a separate download. It will have lower system requirements, allowing last-gen consoles and lower spec PCs to handle the higher player count.
Industrial Toys - will port DICE LA's free-to-pay play Battle Royale over to mobile
Criterion - support studio helping DICE
Electronic Arts Gothenburg - support studio helping DICE

I find it interesting that both support studios specialize in vehicle driving games. Electronic Arts Gothenburg
is known for making Need For Speed games, and Criterion is known for Burnout racing games.
I think this is good news, because I hate the way vehicles and aircraft handled in BFV. The planes flew like a brick. Vehicles felt clunky and World of Tank-ish. Hopefully Criterion and EA Gothenburg can make vehicles and aircraft fun to drive again.

I don't think I'll play it nearly as much as the console iteration, but will definitely give whatever mobile game they give us a go.
FreeToPlay, Heroes, a Commander-esque mode, Battle Royale, Bejeweled... the possibilities are near endless
I wish that EA would spend the money on making the PC and console version(s) perfect instead !
Like building a solid and serious AC system into their BF eco system.
Enough distraction for pedestrians, bicyclists and car drivers already, fiddling with their mobile devices and causing harm and death around them and themselves. EA getting ready with their no-liability claims, when the first ambulances starts rolling in? :o)

I don't think the mobile game will have any implications on the main game, development-wise.
EA has hired a separate studio for doing this, and Dice will probably not spend much time on the mobile game (if any).
It looks like EA has really gotten behind BF after the BFV failure, and now tries to "make BF great again". BF should be a 'flagship' for EA and not just another shooter (their biggest FPS must be Apex Legends now).
Hopefully they will succeed with BF6...

@cso7777 the money EA used to hire the additional studio for mobile should have been used to make the main DICE game even better IMO. I know they want to compete with COD mobile but I'd rather EA ignore COD and focus on making a fun traditional Battlefield title instead of chasing trends.
