- Test other games / app's to see if issue persists.
- If not lower graphics settings as much as possible, disable all background apps, upgrade CPU.
- If so troubleshoot hardware (clean fans etc, test open case, reapply thermalpaste to CPU +/ reseat GPU, reseat all cables, Remove all external / non-essential hardware, upgrade BIOS, reseat memory, replace PSU or Mobo).
There could be a lot of reasons why this occurs we will have to give it a proper evaluation. But even without lockups your CPU will bottleneck a little.
There is only one other game I get frame drops, Dota 2. But, it is not the same as in BF1 and I only get the frame drops when my game is about to crash in Dota 2. Did everything you said except for upgrading the CPU, still have the same problems.

Hey, @Blackspider131 When you are playing Battlefield 1 are you noticing any hardware that is capping out on 100% in task managers when you start lagging?
/Atic- Anonymous8 years agoNo hardware caps at 100% while playing. I believe it's due to temperature performance throttling. I was watching my temps while I played and I only got the drops when my temps went down. So my processor is downgrading performance so i don't overheat it. I'm trying to figure out why my temps are so high, i put new thermal paste on and i have a water cooler, and i have the pump plugged into a 12V connection.
