Bayonet Charge

Is it me, or does the bayonet charge seem to miss more than it should? Don't get me wrong charging somebody down with a pointy stick at the end of your gun is fun, however it seem that more often than not you will run right past them. This is not only a joy killer, but you will probably get wrecked by the guy you just missed. Anybody else think so?

  • Personally I only miss when my target is on an elevated position. It seems that the bayonet only connects when both you and your target are on a flat surface.

I feel like they have nerfed it, I got sooo much more kills with the bayonet charge in the open beta than when the game was released
  • I bayonete charged a guy using a mortar yesterday and it completely missed him 🤔
  • @scoobymandan That is pretty normal, and happens because mortar technically is a vehicle (and you can't bayonet charge people in vehicles).

On bayonet charge power, until May 30th update, bayonet charge in main game was way stronger than during beta - you could strafe and make 90-degree turns on the spot. However, it has been nerfed last week. Here is the quote from update notes:

    • Changes to bayonet charge:

o   Activated aiming speed modifier during prepare state as well as charge state. This means a player can rotate a maximum of 50 degrees during the prepare state. Also added an input modifier disabling strafe while charging.

o   Adding subtle boost to third person footsteps when bayonet charging to increase threat awareness. Boosted volume of Enemy VO for Bayonet Charge when close to player.

o   Slightly reduced maximum turn rate while charging.

o   Removed damage reduction while in charge. Weapons will now hit charging players for normal damage.
