[BF1] Low FPS and stutters on good hardware

Hi, I remember playing Battlefield 1 a year or two ago back then on an i5 and a gtx 960 having almost no issues on medium-low settings. I now return to the game with much better specs (listed below) and I am getting terrible frames even on 1080p. I let Geforce Experience optimize my game after having difficulties with lag and dropped frames while only on medium settings, and Geforce decided to set all of my settings to high-ultra. This fixed the stutters so they only happen every so often now, but I still only get around 20-40 frames which makes it really hard to play, especially when it throttles. I can list my settings if needed.

[Edit:] I should note that I've been playing on 2560 x 1440 144Hz, but I also get the same issue when dropping down to 1080p 60/120/144Hz.

Relevant PC Specs:
i7 9700K

Gigabyte RTX 2070 SUPER

Corsair RGB Pro 32GB 3200Mhz

WD Blue 2TB SSD

  • @Thicc_Panda_Bear Even with good hardware, DX12 still causes trouble in the BF1, please exhibit.
For the game I would choose power management mode, max power or high power.
If you have GPU memory limit on in the game option, please turn it off.
I would always turn HDR off.
  • @huguberhart My resolution scaling was only at 100%, but I just kept restarting my computer then suddenly it just... Worked. The game runs find now at 2560 x 1440 and I get about 90-100 frames with only small stutters in large maps. This game is wild lmao.
