BF1 v BF4 & BFH all around options

Can someone answer me this without any bias or obvious dismissive vanilla cookie cutter fanboy banter? (Full disclosure) I love the BF franchise, I've spent way too much time with the titles, I just want the best for the games. OK, why is it that BF1 has leas than half of the customization options as previous titles? It seems BF1 has been neutered from the inside out of all the options and fun ways to play the game to match you're liking/style. They have done this to their own detriment as well because the player base isn't nearly what BF4's was at this time in the life cycle, which is saddening.

1 update per month, so the game will evolve in the times.

  • This is more suited for the forums / Battlefield subreddit but eitherway the only major disparity is the setting - World War 1 was mostly single action rifles with a lot of the more exotic weaponry featured in-game being rare prototypes that never existed past double digits. Modern settings have more weaponry and gadgets to work with by comparison, even if in BF4s case there ended up being a lot of overlap with weapons and useless weaponry because of this abundance, driving most players to just use the same guns like the ACE23.

DICE seem to be working on improving customisation a fair amount with the upcoming class specialisations and expanded arsenal featured in the DLC though the extent of it remains to be seen.

  • You've also got to consider that you are comparing two games that are at the end of there life cycle with all dlc released, with a game that is less then half way through is life cycle with only one DLC released. I do see your point however, BF1 does lack some of what made BF4 an outstanding game but it improves on bf4 with some aspects such as Operations. I hope you continue to play.

  • How many attachments did they have back in 1914-18?! There's your answer 👍🏻 Modern day era will obviously have more options. But BF1 compared to BF4... I feel like I'm getting a more gruelling & realistic fight, which beats the numbers and statistics for me.
