BF1942 Mod DCX.9 not loading maps
I have been trying to get Battlefield 1942 and all the extensions on my gaming PC for some time, and I have been successful in getting the original extensions (R2R and SWWW2) to work properly, and even the Desert Combat and DC_Final mods work fine as well. My problem is that I cannot get the DCX.9 mod to work at all. It loads up the main menu just fine, and I can change settings, but every single map I try to load always loads to about 30-40% and then crashes back to the main windows screen. This is very frustrating since I really liked this mod, and I feel limited by only being able to play dc_final, even though it is a wonderful mod in its own right, there are so much more content I cannot access. I have tried numerous fixes, downloads, reinstalls to try and get this working, but to no avail. My main PC specs are as follows:
Processor Intel core i7-8700 @3.20GHz
16 gb RAM
Gforce RTX 2060 video card
If anyone has a fix, please let me know. I would love to play this mod again.
EDIT: I have succeeded in loading maps that have the DC helmet icon from DCX9, but the spawn screen weapon selection is all wacky (whiteouts, weird weapon blobs)
ok I did some further testing I believe you have compatibility mode enabled Windows XP ?
I need you to remove compatibility mode because Windows 10 can decide what the game needs without you telling it especially if you are on the latest version of Windows 10.I tested desert combat extended myself and it will run perfectly fine without compatibility mode this Tuesday I will be online on livestream again at twitch.tv/emile44
so you can see yourself that the game works fine without it.however when I enable compatibility mode it will crash at 18%
