BF3 has stopped working/insane lag issues

Ok my specs are

AlienWare M14x R2

i7-3740QM

8GB -1600MHz DDR3 Dual Channel

2GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 650M

on auto graphic settings i pull between 40-80fps on campaign and multiplayer, this week though its been dropping  to 8fps intermittently then stabilising after a few seconds. this does happen in SP but not anywhere near as frequently as in MP. as you can imagine this is rather frustrating as ive NEVER had this problem before, everytime i close BF3 i get the message saying BF3 has stopped working.

ive tried what little info ive been able to find but to no avail, my drivers are up to date, my HDD is nowhere near full, again ive never had this before. its very frustrating to be playing a game and the fps just drop to the point where theres no movement, please can i have a solution, my laptop is more than capable of running this game, ive spent a lot of money on this game and im rather angered that it doesnt/isnt working properly.

im not a pc boffin but i know this isnt right, any help will be greatly appreciated.....until then ill have to go back to my PS3 version ☹️

  • hey

go to settings in origin, then scroll down!!

    1) Uncheck use cloud storage for all games
    2) Delete settings folder in C:/Users/your name/My documents/Battlefield 3 (you can make a copy to save in case)
    3) It should now work

    Regards,

just had a game of conquest, it was improved for a bit longer but the problem did occur again eventually, it wasnt as bad, the drops were around 12-25 this time instead of 8-15 but it still happened and was more than noticable

    Hi,

Are you drivers up to date? Try repairing your Battlefield 3?(Right Click on Battlefield 3 in Origin->Repair Install)

Have you tried to restart your PC? Sometimes, a simple restart can get it to work again.

    Regards, Libever
