BF3 Punkbuster keeps on kicking me.

Hello.

I have been playing for few months now. And for first few times I kept on getting kicked. I have somehow fixed it back than. And since that time I still sometimes get kicked off certain servers or map. Now all of  the sudden today I am getting kicked no matter what. I have tried to deleting and re-installing, updating, checking and turning on and off the firewall and nothing is helping. Please I need some help... "ERROR

Game disconnected: you were kicked by PunkBuster. Stated reason: PunkBuster kicked player 'GruntyMurloc' (for 0 minutes) ... RESTRICTION: Service Communication Failure: PnkBstrA.exe"

I have the same experience, this is just bad practice as i see that many people are having the same problem and not a thing is being done to help us. Why ever buy a game made by these guys again if we cannot even play them? had to search for ever just to even get to the point where i can try to contact support. I will spread the word wide and farabout this terrible service is not even worth the time unless something is done. Lol a 55-60 min wait to even try to get to their chat line. I paid for this game and am not even able to play, just piss poor. I have reinstalled punkbuster, updated it, and then done all of the other things they list as "help" just sad. you would think they could see this is happening to alot of people and find a fix but i dont think they give a damn.

  • OP that message says that the Punkbuster parent server cannot communicate with your local PB service. Do these steps:

    1. Whitelist Punkbuster A and Punkbuster B in your PC's firewall and your router.
    2. Go to evenbalance.com and download the punkbuster update tool and run the updater and then manually add BF3 to the updater if number 1 doesn't work.

    Here are the steps:

    1. Open windows firewall
    2. click advanced settings( on the left) and then inbound (also left)
    3. Find PnkbstrA.exe and PnkbstrB.exe (if you have two of both, its fine)
    4. right click on each of them>properties>programs and services
    5. make sure that "all programs that meet the spesifications" is checked
    6. then go to the "Advanced" tab and check all 3 boxes. Domain, Private and Public.
    7. REMEMBER TO DO THIS FOR ALL PnkBstr Files. then save and quit.
    8. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 3 and delete "Pb" folder.
    9. go to these 2 links:
    http://websec.evenbalance.com/downloader/download.php?file=1
    http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe
    10. download and install both
    11. Run Pbsetup.exe (the first link)
    12. add a game (eg. bf3)
    13. check for updates.

badw013f Punkbuster is not an EA program and the troubleshooting steps that I just posted often resolves the error that the OP described.  Also if Live Chat is not being helpful you can speak with a game advisor via telephone here:

1 Click on the following link: https://help.ea.com/contact-us
2 Make sure you are logged in (top right corner)
3 Click on the blue button "Contact a Game Advisor"
4 Enter the name of your game or product (or "Origin" for account-related issues) and click "Find Solutions"
5 Select the type of issue and the platform you play on, and click on "Find Solutions".
6 Click on the blue button "I still need help" if the FAQ articles do not apply to your situation.
7 Select a contact option. Note that you may get different contact options depending on your country.

I recommend that you use the telephone option and the “call me” option so you don't have to stay on hold for a long time (call back feature available to North America only).

  • I saw on few threads about right clicking on each of them and click properties. But for somereason my computer won't let me right click on them.

  • I have tried to follow your steps except for 4-7 but ths is what I got now "ERROR

Could not contact Battlelog, please try again"
