So when I purchased MOH 2010, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, was using an Aimbot Cheat. $$$ wasted on my buying a game that I could not get ahead and earn enough points to rank-up and gain all the "...
Actually, everyone doesn't use cheats. If I had to venture a guess, I would guess that about 35% of battlefield players use some kind of downloadable cheat, and about 60-70% of players use some kind of macro, which is more or less a legal way to cheat the mechanics of the game without officially cheating.
Even in games where I've played against cheaters, I don't find it any harder to rank up, or earn unlocks so I'm not sure how all these cheaters are preventing you from advancing in any way. You either have a bad "favorites" server list that loads of cheaters frequent, or you're just not that good of a player.
I will, however, agree with you that EA/DICE do very little to absolutely nothing to prevent/stop cheaters in their games. Most of the time they issue stat-wipes for caught players which is useless. That's like a cop walking up to a murderer and asking for his gun, then telling him to go on his way. All of us also know that Punkbuster has been useless since it was created, and only catches an extremely small percentage of cheaters - usually the ones that download and use out-of-date hacks without realizing it.
Here's why I think they don't do much to alleviate cheaters:
1. They can ban cd keys of groups of players, which forces them into buying the title again, which the majority of them probably do. More profit.
2. The people who quit and/or don't purchase another title from EA because of cheaters does not, in any way, outweigh the amount of people who purchase the game. So ultimately, why should they care if you quit or not?
3. It's been proven again and again, that even if 50% of the community complain about the game, which is what happened in BF3, that those same players are sitll going to purchase it, purchase premium, purchase advanced kits, etc hoping it will get better. So again, why should EA care? Statistically, they know they're going to get your money regardless of how you feel.
4. They just don't care. Read some interviews that the president of EA has given and you'll get a really good understanding on the stance EA takes against its consumers. It's quite amusing. Thank god I get BF4 for free if I want to play it, because I sure as hell wouldn't purchase it.
I've played BF4 beta a bit, which is more or less the final product, and it's pretty bad. Awkwardly face-paced and feels very much like a cheap arcade game. If you want to buy the game, wait a couple months till it drops price and all the numerous patches have been released for it.
100% agree, I made a post like this a while ago on their forums and recieved a ban for bad mouthing EA, what a joke.
As for spectate, HA. Google BF4 Cheats Specator and the tope three links all have code (screen shots included) that pops up on your screen when you're being spectated. So the most you can hope to accomplish is they toggle off while spectating (maybe) but then everyone else would see the benefit of them toggled off and not you.
It's a lose lose situation.
