That is indeed a very weird issue. Please, tell us what platform this problem occurs on.
Have you experienced the same issue before and does it show you an error when this happens?

PC platform the last 4-5 days (for me at least) battlelog shows nothing and the system pops a appication stopped working window
Similar here. When you apply a boost (on a PC) the menu is no longer clickable but I can still see animations like explosions and people running in the game under. The boost timer is not getting started, it's just sitting there at 1:00:00 all the time.

Same here on PC. I can access the terminal but I have to quit BF4 and reload to be able to play again.
