BF4 crashes while changing loadout

Hi all,

I'm having a pretty big issue here. Everytime I try to change my loadout in-game, my game instantly crashes. What can I do about this? I've already repaired install on Origin.

Thanks

  • Hi tigerrx95, if on PC then try the following:

-make sure that you've updated your drivers to latest version.
If its Nvidia then go to the Nvidia website and download the latest graphics driver. http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us
If AMD then go to its website and do the same. http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
Choose a 'clean install' (usually in the advanced install options)

If the problem only began after updating your graphics driver then try reverting to a previous driver (again choosing 'clean install)
If using Mantle drivers on AMD and crashing in X64 version then -Go to C:\Users\Administrator\Documents\Battlefield 4\settings and delete the file "PROFSAVE_profile" (or you could just move it somewhere else on your PC for safekeeping). This will also reset keybindings and graphics settings so you will need to do them again when you launch the game.

-Go into your in-game graphics settings and lower all Ambient Oclusion (AO) and Anti-aliasing (AA) settings.

Try to play and see if it still crashes.

    Hello,

Could I stick to this conversation because I have simillar problem.

    My set:

    CPU: AMD X8FX-8350 4.0ghz

GPU: Radeon R9 290 MSI 4gb Gaming (driver version: 14.10.1006-140417a-171099C)

    RAM: 8gb G.skill 1866CL8

    System: Win7 X64

    Symptoms:

Game crashes after about one minute of playing campaign (I havn't played multi so far), freezes game window from witch I can return only with task manager. Win7 always display information that BF4 have stoped working properly and was shut. That's it. Nothing more. I tried your every advise like updating my drivers (I did that twice already), lowering AO and AA settings, installing the Microsoft .NET4 Framework update and even switching from Mantle back toDirectX11. nothing worked for me. What is also important that I managed to play the campaign twice for coupple of houres without crashing but right now it has returned to the situation presented above. I havn't changed anything in my PC settings - only driver update. What may be worth mentioning is that my computer is brand new - I bought it just 5 days ago.

    P.S.

    forgive me my poor english

    best regards

  • Hey Dargorot, could you try these simple steps and see if they help?:

-Do a repair install of the game in Origin. In origin right-click your game and from the drop down menu choose 'repair' install.

    -Run the game as ADMINISTRATOR.
Go to the Origin games folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4) and find Bf4.exe. Right click it and go to PROPERTIES, then COMPATIBILITY and tick the box next to RUN THIS PROGRAM AS ADMINISTRATOR.
Do the same with BF4_x86.exe as well.

    -Disable Origin in game.
In Origin - Application settings - Origin in Game - disable Origin in game

    -Run Origin as Administrator
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin and right click on Origin.exe and go to properties. Then go to compatability tab and tick the box next to RUN AS ADMIN.

    -Reinstall C++ redistributables.
    1:go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4\__Installer\vc\vc2012Update3\redist
2: Right Click on vcredist_x64.exe and choose RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR then follow onscreen prompts.
Do the same with vcredist_x86.exe and follow onscreen prompts.

Hello Poohstick17 and thx 4 reply.

Yesterday in the late evening I did what u wrote like dicabling origin in game anr running it and the game itslef as Administrator.

I was able to almost finish the capmaign without a single system problem which normally occured after 1-2 minutes of playing.

I didn't reinstall my C++ redistributables and I didn't repair the origin aplication itself.

I will let u know if sth changes or not in the game.

    best regards

EDIT: Game has crashed again today after about 2 hrs of playing and keep crashing again.

One thing - my Origin Games folder is empty! I dont see there any folders or files at all (?)

    C:\Program files(x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4 - no files or folders.

On multi games craseh every time the respawn window appears.

Result always the same - BF4 has stoped working....

I'm starting to hate this game... ☹️

  • Hey again @Dargorot, your Origin games folder is empty?........ but you can launch the game and get to the spawn window?

Where do you have the games installed then? Or is the game completely gone?

Please come back and let us know.

    Hello again,

    As always thx 4 reply.

The game itself is installed on the second partition of the same disc where I keep my all other games.

It is a different location from that where the Origin is installed.

Do you think that may be the cause od problems?

    BTW.

I also play WoT a lot and noticed that I'm also crashing while playing it but it is only a desktop drop without any system feedback like in BF4 case.

I thought this information would be helpfull.

  • After two days I think I can say that the game is fixed.

I finished single and curently playing multi on ultra wih mantle and no problems at all.

It seems that updating my BIOS to the latest version was the solution.

    Thx 4 help

    cheers

  • Hey Dargorot, thanks for coming back and letting others know what worked for you.

Maybe this will be helpful to somebody with a similar problem 🙂

Are you getting any error messages or error codes when the game crashes?  Can you run your dxdiag and post the results so we can see if there are any faults in there that are not resulting in error messages?

Hi ragnarok013 - as I have mentioned above: updating my BIOS worked as a solution in my case. The game itself was crashing with information that BF4 "stoped working properly and will be shutdwon". Nothing more.

Rright now everything works just fine - single as well as multi.
