BF4 DirectX Error, GetDeviceRemovedReason

There are plenty of post about this error, but most of them havn't helped me. So creating a thread where people can help me as a individual case to debug the issue.

The error is simple.

DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG ("The application's device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application. This is an design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed. "). GPU: "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780", Driver: 33182

The error appears a few time per day recently, no clue why it did begin in the first place.

What I've done to prevent it?

  • Remove clock on CPU
  • Remove clock on GPU
  • Install Directx from the Battlefield 4 folder
  • Install VC from the Battlefield 4 folder
  • Update Punkbuster via pbsetup.exe
  • Clean install with the latest Nvidia Drivers
  • Uninstalled the game completly to try a fresh install

I'm lost of possibilites, other then reinstalling Windows, and that is a solution I prefer not to do as it was a fresh install at launch.

System speccs:

  • Windows 8.1 PRO 64bit
  • i5 2500k @ 4.5 GHz
  • EVGA GTX 780 ASX SC @1170 MHz (Drivers, 331.81)
  • P8Z68-V PRO GEN3 (Latest BIOS)

If you have any ideas of what I should try next, I would love to hear them
