BF4 freezes when I click "Options" in the ESC menu.

What have you tried so far to troubleshoot the game? Have you tried running a repair, have you turned off Origin in game or tried running Origin as an admin?

Origin in-game has always been off, I have tried running Origin as an administrator, doing repairs, starting the game as an admin too. Whatever I do doesn't seem to work. I will try these again though.

I reinstalled Windows 10 today and the issue still persists. It is 100% a bug with BF4, every other BF game works fine.

I contacted EA support about it and they said they would email me troubleshooting steps, when I got the email, the steps were for networking issues, so EA help is useless.

Also no-one seems to reply here either. So BF4 was a waste of money, great ☹️

To gather a DXDIAG on your computer, please follow the steps below:

1. Press and hold the Windows key and the letter R on your keyboard
2. You will see a Run box in the lower-left corner of your screen
3. Type dxdiag in the text field
4. Click OK
5. If your computer has a 64-bit version of Windows, click the button Run 64-bit DXDIAG (see screenshot below)
6. If your computer has a 32-bit version of Windows, that button will not be available

Hey @Cublyy, 

are you using NVIDIA's Shield? If not, disable the NvStreamNetworkService.exe in Services as it is producing crashed according to your DxDiag.

@EA_Valgard I have disabled that service and have tested BF4 and the issue still persists. The game runs fine, it just refuses to load the options menu, that's why I am so confused!

Hey @EA_Valgard, 

since disabling the Nvidia service, I am now getting error reports in Event Viewer!

It appears the issue is with amdmantle.

Should I delete the amdmantle64.dll file from the game files?

do you have AMD drivers installed? You're having an NVIDIA card, there shouldn't be Mantle installed. 

Maybe @ragnarok013 has an idea with that? He's more technical than I am. :/ ^^
