Don't look down.
Often in these platform jumps you are temped to look down at the platform you are jumping off.
When you jump off make sure you are looking straight ahead or a little up.
Had multiple attempts and this worked first time.
I am assuming that you are talking about jumping over to the ladder at the damn?
If so, go back as far as you can, then start running with extra Sprint (not sure which game system but on PS4, you press L3 down), then jump (as close as you can to the edge of the plank) towards the ladder (and hope that you didn't jump too early)
