BF4 keeps asking me to update on PC

Hi all,

Hoping some one can help, with the latest two patches I have had the same issue, managed to fix it after the last patch by deleting and redownloading the patch however hasnt worked this time.

I downloaded the latest Bf4 update for PC, however whenever I go to the battlelog it wont let me join any games and keeps asking me to download an update.

I have tried checking for updates and it just comes back its up to date, tried repairing the game and everyime it crashes with a supossed network error at 99% yet all my other origin games connect to the net fine.

Error message i get is:

Network Timeout: Uh oh. The download server is not responding. Please check your internet connection, or try again later.

Have also deleted battlelog plugin then re downloaded as well.

Please help me fix this as its fricken frustrating.

    Hi specrii,

When the website is asking you for updates is the system talking about game updates or to download the plugin?

Another possible item to look at is trying the "Repair Install" option.  I have used this in the past to fix my Battlefield update issues.

    Regards,

    Matthew

P.S.  Please +1xp if this helps.

    Hi Matthew,

    This is a game update.

If you are referring to right clicking on battlefield 4 and selecting "Repair game"? yes I have tried this as mentioned above, every time I select it it gets to 99% then pops up with some network connection error yet all of my other origin games update/play correctly.

If its not please let me know where to find "Repair Install" and I will happily give it a go.

    Thanks 🙂

    Hi SpecRII,

It appears I had the verbage wrong.  I see you have gone throught the paces testing that.  I am at a bit of a loss because I have not had this issue since about 4 - 5 patches ago. I guess my other suggestion would be to uninstall and reinstall.  This has fixed issues for several other people.  This possible solution is a more extreme measure however its a more thorough approach and often could resolve other issues.  I hope this helps!

    Regards,

    Matthew

Thanks for that would rather not re-install at this stage, dont really want to use half my months cap in one go nor do I feel I should have to re-install.

Hopefully someone can help without resorting to such extremes.

So have spent about 6 hours now with EA's live chat trying to sort this with no luck, really getting frustrated with this and the amount of time wasted almost at the point of just asking EA to refund me because I can't even play the game due to their failure to provide stable updates.

Escalated to a specialist now, lets see how much time the specialist asks me to waste completing trouble shooting steps, feel EA should deliever a solution to their product not the customer spending hours of their time trying to sort this.
