"Classic" class weapon restrictions added for Open Beta as an option.

Glad to see that it's being added as a choice, but it is worth noting that anyone touting the whole thing is gonna need to actually play it and still give feedback when that beta rolls around. Odds are non-restricted will outperform classic but who knows maybe if there's enough people actually running it we can get both at the least when retail launch comes.

Definitely excited to see how this pans out long term.

  • I am guessing that the number of people playing with open weapon system will be many multiples of the classic system. Casual players will vastly outnumber hardcore fans.

i imagine a number of hardcore players will still opt for open style as it allows them to get up to whatever they want. We see it enough with all the high level dudes with rorsch railguns on Irish hiding behind shields to farm high kill counts.

  • Wonder if the final game will have both playlist? Makes both sides happy. Me I'm more of a classic locked weapons so I am pretty excited

I'm starting to think we might see this game in November if the beta goes decent

Potentially, it could launch with both. It'd probably stop some arguining within the community straight away if they did that anyway. I'm leaning more towards it being an experiment, though, since the feedback I've seen in most places so far is split between the two "sides".

Yeah honestly as nice as it'd be I think it's gonna come down to one or the other. Just have to hope whichever version you prefer prevails at the end lol.

I think that's a good way of looking at it. Hopefully that nobody gets too upset if that is what happens.

I'm planning on trying both, as while I do admittedly lean more towards the "unlocked" side of things at the moment, having class locked weapons might work better in practice.

The idea of unlocked to me is cool and all but the amount of people doing counterproductive off-class antics or just really cheesing and abusing certain weapons with it turned me off hard.

  • I'm all in on the rock paper scissors balance from bf3, you can only get that with locked class weapons.

So I will certainly only be playing locked weapons in the open beta.

Another hope of mine is way less gadgets.

When it comes to gadgets less is more, less is easier to balance and plays into the rock paper scissors balance approach.
