BF4 keeps loading and then it freezes

I've downloaded and ran BF4 beta and a (minimized) screen appeard with the map overview image, some info text, and the "loading" status doing some kind of animation. Then, after like several minutes, the animations stopped and everything froze.

I've read somewhere that BF4 doesn't work with Core2 Duo... Is that just a myth, speculation or an actual fact?

I don't know what could be wrong, here are my computer specifications:

• Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8 64-bit 
• Process Specification: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8500 @ 3.16GHz 
• DirectX Version: 11.0 
• Graphic card: NVIDIA GeForce FTX 650 Ti (driver date: 12.9.2013, driver version: 9.18.13.2723)
• RAM: 4 GB
