BF4 keyboard stops working but mouse is running fine

Hi,

Yesterday night my game was running fine, since this morning however it's buggy as hell. Every time I start a new game (BF3 & BF4, the same problem), my keyboard input stops working. I already tried updating the headset, mouse and keyboard drivers and software to no avail. The same goes for the graphics driver.

System specs:

GPU: GeForce GTX 680 (driver is Version 331.65)

CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50 GHz

RAM: 32 GB

Windows 7 Professional 64bit

I'm using:

Steelseries Siberia V2 Illuminated headset

Steelseries Stealth Merc Gaming Keyboard

Cyborg R.A.T.7 Mouse

As I said: yesterday evening (or even this morning to be precise) I had the same things running and both games worked just fine. When I started my computer this morning the keyboard input just stopped working. Several reboots (some forced as I couldn't even tab out of the game anymore) didn't help either, running origin as an admin or diabling it in-game the same. As it doesn't even work when tabbed out of a game (I deleted the "settings" folder as this was suggested in a smiliar thread, ever since the game starts in windowed mode which at least allows me to use the mouse to tab out) I thought I'd open a new post as this seems to be new. Thanks for your help

  • Try these steps:

    • Disconnect all devices apart from mouse and keyboard
    • Use a standard non-gaming M+KB
    • Disable any configuration apps you may have for your M+KB

Thank you for your help. Disconnecting all other devices didn't work and using another M or KB than the ones I have is not an option but disabling the config apps did the trick.

  • I am having the exact same issues as OP was experiencing. I am using a G710+ but was not using any keyboard software (didn't need to). I decided to install the Logitech software to see if maybe installing it would magically solve the problem but it did not. This is incredibly odd and frustrating as I was able to play before and this issue started randomly occuring. Every once and awhile, if I start a game and am able to actually exit out of the window and close the browser, it might work fine (temporarily). Also completely reinstalled out of last chance hope and the problem still existed.

may try this sithian476, Hope this helps, because it had driven me nuts, tried every suggestion on this site and some others.  My problem ended up being the unifying receiver on my logitech keyboard and mouse.  I had it installed in a rear usb port and never had the first issue with either the keyboard or mouse until BF4, so for most things it works fine there but with BF4 had lag and freeze issues...  FIX (at least for me): move the unifying receiver from the rear of the tower,  closer to the keyboard.  I used the USB extension hub that came with the k/m combo and installed in the same rear port. All is fine now...
