BF4 low fps/unplayable

Hello

I decided to try BF4 again with Game Time but I have really low fps most of the time and at random times. As you can imagine driving a vehicle or zooming really drops fps down. I tried a few servers, my latency is 50-70 and stays that way every time I check it. I set my video settings to low (last 3 disabled) and resolution to 1024x768 with 100% scale and I get to about 100 fps at times but only for a bit. Most of the times it varies from 15 to 50 and it's all chopped up, thus unplayable. I tried the campaign as well and it's slightly better but overall the same, so the problem has to be on my side and I see other people in servers don't have such issues. I also have BF3 and play it on higher settings and have no problem at all.

I read a few threads and tried this and that but still can't find the real problem. I updated my nvidia drivers and directx, disabled Origin in game and cloud storage, checked for new updates and repaired the game - nothing helped. One thing that slightly improved the fps count/gaming experience was adding BF4 to my NVIDIA Control Panel's Manage 3D Settings section.

The BETA was bad but as far as I can remember I didn't struggle as much when playing.I was thinking of buying BF4 but I guess it won't be soon, if ever.

info about my system

windows 7 x64
intel i3 2100
4GB
geforce gtx 550 ti

Any suggestions what to do in order to fix this ?

P.S. I noticed that the advanced hud options are non-existent. Are they only available to premium members?

Do you have Vsync on? It should help if it's all choppy. And it might not be your GPU, maybe  your PC is just overheating, or it could even be the CPU. Besides BF4 is a very demanding game.

    Recomended specs for BF4

    • Quad core CPU (Intel Core i5 or i7) at 3 Ghz
    • 4 GB memory (8 GB for 64-bit operating systems)
    • A modern DX11 graphics card with 2+ GB of video memory, GeForce 600 series or Radeon 7000 series
    • Windows 7 64-bit operating system (Windows 8 is supported as well)
    • 30+ GB of free harddrive space

OK vsync helped considerably. Game runs way smoother now. It still stutters though and I can't do much in game. I am still to test overheating and how it behaves in campaign.

Yeah I know BF4 is more demanding than BF3 but my system fits somewhere inbetween the minimum and recomended specs plus I play it on low settings and when I check my PC's performance in the task manager when game is running I see that cpu and memory usage is not at 100%.

Edit: Campaign is played as intended most of the time. There are some really short stutters at random times but it's playable. Tried cooling the system but result is still the same. I'm out of ideas and soon out of free play time, so feel free to share some thoughts people.
