BF4 Non-Default Control Help

I recently purchased the PC version of BF4 and currently having some issues with changing the default controls. I generally bind "q" to prone and "4" to crouch and "3" for gadget 1 and "5" for gadget 2. However, whenever i'm in game, pressing "5" will not select gadget 5. I've tired clearing the keyboard bind and restarting my game but It simply does not respond to my keyboard input!

Is there a workaround for this? Or do I have to wait for EA to patch it?

I've also been experiencing "rubberbanding" and graphic shutters. Is this a problem with the game or my pc?
