I'm trying to set the controls for Helicopter and Jet for a wireless Xbox 360 controller.Left trigger will duplicate as free look and whatever else I try to bind to it. I can not get rid of free look. It stays binded to the left trigger no matter what. Even if I delete all free look movements. When holding the left trigger in first person mode, I lose all control of the left analog stick. However, the left analog stick works fine in 3rd person mode while holding left trigger.Also is there a way to click for afterburner instead of having to hold it for jets?Thank you.

jcrosara, unfortunately it didn't fix the jets and helicopters for me. The left trigger is still disabling Pitch/Roll no matter what they are bound to when you are flying in first person. Edit: I found the solution here! "ConceptZoom.3.button" is the culprit. There are 3 instances of it in the PROFSAVE_profile file; heli, jet, and ground vehicle. It is set to "14" by default which is the left trigger. This is why jcrosara's config didn't work for me, his jet.ConceptZoom.3.button setting is still 14. All you need to do is set all of them to a bogus key and this issue will go away. Finally I can fly! :D

I got rid of the left-trigger-problem and now have a perfectly working free-look on my xbox controller.Here are the step by step instructions:0. Set the key bindings in the game's key bindings menu as you whant them and save the settings.1. Quit the game.2. Open PROFSAVE_profile file in a text editor. The file is in Documents\Battlefield 4\settings folder.3. Locate in the file this entry: GstKeyBinding.heli.ConceptZoom.3.button4. Change the numeric value after this entry to the same value that stands after GstKeyBinding.heli.ConceptZoom.2.button5. As described in Steps 3 and 4, change the value for entry GstKeyBinding.jet.ConceptZoom.3.button and then for GstKeyBinding.vehicle.ConceptZoom.3.button6. Save the PROFSAVE_profile file.7. Enjoy!NOTE1: You may need to remove all other GstKeyBinding.heli.ConceptZoom.# entries where # is the number 4 and higher.NOTE2: You may need to switch from cockpit view to 3rd person view and back, for the free look to start working in jets and helis.NOTE3: If on starting the game first time after the change, Origin reports that your local saves do not match the saves from the cloud, choose to use your local saves (not those from the cloud).Thanks to all who helped in figuring this out!___________________________________________________________________________________

Very specifically, my only issue is that my left trigger is always bound to free look in jets. Somehow it fixed itself with helicopters and I never had the issue with other vehicles (some say the Zoom perk activates in tanks). Still, it's annoying when I need to slow down to make a tight turn or to line up a strafing run and my plane controls lock up because I enter free look mode.
Someone at EA / DICE needs to escalate and fix the keybinding defaults issues. Some actions simply cannot be remapped and others are ghosting even after a remap. This is ridiculous. At least give us the option to so binds and unbinds for everything in the console or something.

Same problem, the left trigger is interfering with something! I used to be a competetive jet pilot in BF3, and I was dependant on my controller, now I can pretty much screw it because all the main movements are on my left stick and the brake is on the left trigger - so I cant do a thing if im in the cockpit.

Same problem here, wired xbox 360 controller for PC, left trigger is always binded to free-look.
I also hate that the "Back" (or select) button always opens battlelog. Does somebody know how to deactivate that??.

I had a chat with a game advisor on help.ea.com. He forwarded the request to the specialists. I think if every one on this thread will do the same, it will help to rise the awareness about this bug and some how speedups the resolution. Hey everybody **IV'E MANAGED TO FIX THIS** It's taken me two days and a lot of research and bit of **bleep**ing around in the PROFSAV_profile file thing in the Documents/battlefield4 folder (Can't remeber the exact file name I'm at work at the moment, but you'll see it when you're in there)
I've copied this file to another computer with the same problem and it transfers fine. So anybody who want's it I can upload the file somwhere so you guys can simply delete your prefs file and add mine.
Just to clarify this fixes:
- Get's rid of the ghost left trigger binding to free look on Jets AND helis
- Get's rid of the STUPID left trigger on tanks being perminiantly locked to zoom (So whenever you reverse it zooms in... ridiculous)
I've also deleted ALL keyboard and mouse key bindings (So once you add this file, you can add your own keyboard and mouse binding on a blank canvas)
(obviously you have to close the game each time you change this file, and also make sure you back up your just incase you do anything silly. But honestly it's literally delte and replace file, done)
Can sombody let me know a good place to upload it to?
