Save the Online Servers for Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4
Hello everyone,
You may have already heard the unfortunate news about the upcoming shutdown of the online servers for Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, planned for November 7, 2024. Hundreds of players still play these games daily, with many even renting servers. The Battlefield community is vibrant and active, and two petitions have already gathered over 950 signatures in an appeal to keep the servers running so we can continue enjoying these masterpieces.
This is a screenshot from PS3, where you can see plenty of rented servers full of players.
We reached out to EA live chat support, where a senior EA advisor recommended that we create a forum thread to discuss this topic. They also assured us that this could help us connect with a Community Manager who can forward our request to the right decision-makers.
This is the message we kindly ask the Community Manager to relay:
Dear EA,
We, the dedicated fans of the Battlefield series, are reaching out to you with a heartfelt request to reconsider the decision to shut down the online services for Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, scheduled for November 7, 2024. We deeply value the Battlefield series and respectfully ask EA to reconsider the decision to shut down these servers.
Two petitions have been created to express the community’s desire to keep these servers active, already gathering over 950 signatures:

There are still hundreds of players actively engaged in both games daily, with many dedicated fans keeping the community vibrant by renting and maintaining dozens of servers. If keeping the official servers online is not feasible, allowing the option for server rentals to remain would be a viable alternative. This would enable multiplayer gameplay to continue as long as fans are willing to pay for server hosting. In return, we ask that you preserve player statistics and keep the online services active. This way, the community can still enjoy the multiplayer experience that has kept us coming back for years.
We appreciate your understanding and would be incredibly grateful if our request is granted. Thank you for your attention, and we hope for a positive response.
Best regards,
The Battlefield community
