BF4 (PC) Launch Error: "GPU Does not support DirectX 10.0 which is required" (Even though it does)

I have a Nvidia GTX 260 but when I attempt to launch the game I keep receiving the error message: "Your computer does not meet the minimum requirements for playing this game. 'NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260...

    FOUND A SOLUTION:

    Updating my driver via Device manager-autosearch for updates was installing a driver that was not compatible with BF4 for some reason. Anyway I downloaded a custom driver from NVidia-GeForce's site http://www.geforce.com/drivers and it's working now. Hence anyone with the same problem I would recommend going to your Video Card Website and seeing if manually downloading and installing a custom driver is going to work for you. Anyway Good luck, hope to see you all on the battlefield.

How do I install a custom driver? I've installed the latest update for my GeForce GTX 860m and the game worked the first time I started it up and now I just get the pop-up saying that BF4 requires directx 10 and my GPU doesn't support directx 10. My GPU supports directx 11 and 12 but I can play other games that require directx 9 and 10. Aren't they supposed to be backwards compatible?
