It worked all fine for me... till yesterday, i dont know why, but i didnt change anything on my system and now iam getting a Windows popup after 15-20min playing BF4... telling me, Windows wants to shutdown BF4 to get memory back... but on task manager total memory is at 4GB, wth?
My Setup is...
Windows 8.1
GTX 770M (yeah its a Laptop... Schenker P503)
i7 4200 4 cores
16GB(ohh yeah... alot, should be enough i thought for the most stuff)
Fixing Problemes and making new ones is really awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its really annoying to get moved to the desktop while you play BF4 and cant avoid it!!!!
bf4.exe
- Compatibility Win 8 ( I have Win 8.1 x64 PRO )
- Run as Administrator
Fix the memory leak for me.

^This is the fix.A big 'thank you' to EA and Dice for never helping at all, and leaving it up to the community to find out how to fix it themselves.
I always enjoy playing the 'fixing the game' game.

Unfortuantely that does nothing here. Also the scaling change did nothing.
Trying Win 7 mode next. Still extremely frustrated.
It does seem to happen a bit less if I'm playing Domination and not something with tons of vehicles and explosions. Not sure if that's anecdotal, or a trend. - Anonymous12 years ago
Swapped out the 6xxx card for a 290x. No more problems...except the usual crashes that everyone else gets...sigh.

Any updates? Anyone who follows it closely?

I am but there are still no fixes or updates from EA/DICE. A community guy from EA posted on around page 10 that they are looking into it but since then nothing new^^

chirp chirp....
im about done with Dice/EA if they dont address this.

I tweeted the main @battlefield account and the community manager @Vincent0K with a link to this 50 page thread, asking for an update. Don't really expect them to respond with anything useful, but maybe they can at least rattle something around and get them to realize @ DICE it's still a critical issue for a lot of us.

Got no response from the other two.
I wonder if this is a BF4 problem, or an AMD problem. Or a mixture.
I think I'd be much less frustrated if we'd hear back from somebody that they're working on it. I know there's a client patch coming soon, but we have no idea if they're even addressing it.

Seems to be a mixture of both. AMD have stated they know about the issue and it's their number one bug to solve. Which is apparently coming in a patch in early December. Kind of a slow reaction time, but then I guess it's a pretty annoying bug to fix...
BTW For those looking for a temporary fix for Win 8.1 users:
I run the game with Compatibility mode enabled for Win 8 as well as the "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" checked.
Haven't had a leak since I did that. Just played for around 2hrs straight, though I have 120hrs racked up with the last 20 or so with those settings and no memory leaks.

Unfortuantely, that does nothing for me. Hopefully others will have better luck.
