BF4 pre-installed on pc but can't access multiplayer

Not so long ago I purchased BF4 for my PS3, but I just got a new PC a week ago and it had BF4 pre-installed but it's not connected to my Origin account and I when I try to join a server through the web browser it tells me to log in and only displays PS3 servers when I do. I've tried editing the address for my stats to http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/soldier/KrimzinZV/stats/410493601/pc/ (changing /ps3 to /pc) and then clicking "set as active" but I get the message "Unable to set as active".

Is there a way for my to register it to my battlelog/origin account? Or set it as the active profile?

  • You can play singleplayer fine? To me it sounds like you have an illegal version of the game installed then.

  • It doesn't make any sense to preinstall BF4 onto a pc. It makes a little more sense if you get a serial key where you can actually bind the game to your account but other than that you just have the gamefiles but no Origin profile that own the rights to play them.

I'm also pretty sure it's illegal to preinstall BF4 without them owning a copy of the game but that is besides the point.

Yeah I have all the files, and can play single player fine. I guess it's just an oversight on their part.

I've sent them another message, but won't hear back from them until tomorrow(26th), I'm not sure about my copy's current legal status, but I doubt they'd do anything intentionally illegal. I'll probably get emailed a key from them.
