Bf4 Server ban function option wont ban

Urgent Action Required: Fixing Ban Function for Battlefield 4 Multiplayer Server PS4/5

I am writing to bring to your attention a critical issue affecting our Playstation 4 Battlefield 4 multiplayer server, specifically the ban function that is currently not working as intended. Our server, "Castles Real Hardcore," with over 50,000 likes, is facing a serious threat due to a group of players who are consistently violating the Playstation code of conduct rules by engaging in team killing and other disruptive behaviors.

These individuals are not only causing distress to our community members but also jeopardizing the integrity of our server. Despite our efforts to enforce the rules and maintain a welcoming environment, we are unable to effectively ban these disruptive players due to the malfunctioning ban function.

I urge you to prioritize this matter as urgent and take necessary steps to address the issue with the ban function. It is crucial for the safety and enjoyment of all players on our server that we have the ability to permanently ban those who engage in harassment, team killing, and other violations of the code of conduct.

I kindly request your assistance in resolving this issue promptly to prevent further disruption and ensure the continued success of our server. Your immediate attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Please feel free to reach out to me if you require any further information or assistance in resolving this issue.

Best regards,

Castles Real Hardcore Server Administrator

Ah yes, the timeless advice: “Only play on servers with ACTIVE ADMINS.” Because nothing screams quality gameplay like a self-appointed sheriff handing out bans like candy on Halloween. Clearly, the cheats aren’t ruining the game — it’s the admins who are busy running popularity contests. If they like you, you’re invincible; if they don’t, you’re exiled faster than you can say “respawn.”

And your solution? Brilliant. Fire all the admins and replace them with a fresh batch of volunteers who will definitely, absolutely, without question, never abuse their power. Because history has proven that new admins are always saints and never turn into the same petty tyrants. Totally bulletproof plan.

So yes, let’s keep recycling admins like batteries — toss out the old ones, pop in new ones, and pretend the system magically fixes itself. Meanwhile, the cheats will still be laughing, the bans will still be flying, and the only thing truly “active” will be the drama.

  • “Good evening. Tonight we bring you shocking revelations from the frontlines of Battlefield 4. Reports confirm that server admins are now overusing the ban button. Yes, the once-sacred tool of justice has become a weapon of mass moderation.”

: “Players are being banned for everything — sneezing too loudly on the mic, choosing the wrong camo, or even daring to look at the admin funny. Experts warn that if this continues, by next week the only people left on the server will be the admins themselves, banning each other in an endless loop.”

: “And if that wasn’t enough, we now face the Great Team Switching Crisis. Players are swapping sides mid-match like politicians changing parties. One moment they’re your squadmate, the next they’re shooting you in the back while wearing the enemy’s jersey. It’s betrayal at the speed of a loading screen.”

: “Authorities are scrambling. The International Gaming Tribunal has declared a state of emergency. Rumors suggest NATO may intervene to stabilize the teams. Meanwhile, players are left confused, asking: ‘Who’s on my squad? Who’s the enemy? And why did my medic just defect?’”

: “So tonight, we urge calm. Over-banning and team switching may sound catastrophic, but let’s remember: this is Battlefield. Chaos isn’t a bug — it’s the feature. Stay tuned for more updates on Banageddon and the Team Swap Scandal, or don’t… because you might get banned for watching.”

  • Hardcore Battlefield should be about skill, grit, and fair play — but on L150 hardcore, the two admins have turned it into a circus. Their behavior is beyond frustrating. One struts around like a gatekeeper, arrogant and power‑hungry, acting as if the server is his personal kingdom. The other is just as bad, inconsistent and absent until it suits him, then swooping in to kick players out just to make room for their own clan mates.

It’s baffling how they’re even in an MPV clan. Instead of building a community, they tear it down, replacing genuine players with their inner circle. The result? Empty lobbies, broken trust, and a hardcore scene that feels rigged from the inside.

After years of shadow banning, broken modes, and now admins abusing power, the hardcore experience I loved has been buried under drama and control. Battlefield used to be about the fight — now it’s about surviving the nonsense of those who run it.

  • "Administrators hold a central responsibility in shaping the overall experience of a community or organization. Their role extends beyond enforcing rules; they are the stewards of culture, fairness, and engagement. To create a better time for everyone, administrators should begin by establishing clear and transparent guidelines that set expectations for behavior and participation. These guidelines must be communicated openly and applied consistently, ensuring that all members feel treated equitably and that trust is maintained.

In addition to structure, administrators should actively foster inclusivity and collaboration. This can be achieved by encouraging diverse perspectives, recognizing contributions, and creating opportunities for members to engage meaningfully with one another. Activities such as structured discussions, professional development sessions, or team-building initiatives can strengthen morale and build a sense of shared purpose. Listening to feedback is equally important; administrators should provide channels for members to voice concerns and suggestions, and they should act on this input in a timely and transparent manner.

Equally critical is the way administrators conduct themselves. They must model professionalism in every interaction, demonstrating impartiality, respect, and integrity. Administrators should avoid favoritism, remain calm under pressure, and approach conflicts with discretion and fairness. Their demeanor should be approachable and empathetic, making members feel comfortable seeking guidance or raising issues. By embodying accountability, administrators set the tone for the community, showing that leadership is not about authority alone but about service and responsibility.

Ultimately, administrators who balance structure with empathy, and authority with fairness, create an environment where members feel valued, respected, and motivated. Their actions and behavior directly influence the culture of the group, and by leading with integrity, transparency, and inclusivity, they ensure that the community thrives and that every member has a positive and rewarding experience."

  • Hahahahahaha.............the old advice from years ago, and still used today, is to only play in a server with an ACTIVE ADMIN.

This post seems to make a joke of that pearl of wisdom. Game is full of cheats and the ACTIVE ADMINS are helping them do it, if he likes you that is.

My advice to you sir is get rid of your ACTIVE ADMINS and get new ones. Sure there would be many waiting to step in.

    What went wrong

Man, I love Castles — it’s the server where I learned to spawn-camp politely and clutch a 2–8 comeback with nothing but a repair tool and blind optimism. But lately playing there feels like joining a match where half the team got memed into admin roles and forgot the manual.

    • Power trips replaced play. Some admins started treating the ban list like a personal scoreboard. Team-kills? Instant boot. Friendly fire? Depends who the friend is. If you were in the right clan or had the right Discord ping, you could do laps around the rules and get a trophy for it.
    • Rules became suggestions. We had rules posted like commandments, but enforcement turned into improvisational theater. One admin’s grief vendetta was another admin’s “strategic balance.” That’s how chaos breeds: inconsistent calls, mixed messages, and people quitting mid-round.
    • Transparency died a slow, loud death. No notes on bans, no logs worth reading — just a name vanishing and a bunch of confused players asking “what did I even do?” That breeds salt, conspiracy theories, and screenshot raids in the forums.
    • Clique culture crept in. Admins started protecting clanmates the way chickens guard their chicks. New players and randoms got booted for petty stuff while the inner circle got a free pass for nonsense. That kills the pickup vibe — players stop joining because fairness is the hook.
    • Ban list went from tool to landfill. It filled up and became a blunt instrument. Instead of carefully managing disruptive players, it turned into shotgun moderation: ban first, explain never. Now the list is bloated and useless when you actually need it.
    • No cooldowns, no appeals. Quick bans with zero review = mistakes forever. Temp bans with review? Nah. Folks got permabanned in the heat of the moment and had zero clear path back. That’s how you lose community members, not toxic players.
    • Communication broke down. Admins ghosted appeals, ignored DMs, and treated complaints like spam. When trust evaporates, even the best maps start to feel like hostile territory.

Why it hurts more than just numbers: Castles wasn’t only about scoreboards. It was midnights with friends, clutch rallies, and that one server where nobody judged your newbie moves. Losing that vibe because a few admins misused power sucks — it makes the place colder, smaller, and less fun.

What fixed it (or could fix it): clear logs and notes on every ban, a mandatory cooldown before permanent bans, rotating admin duties, an appeals channel that actually responds, and reminding everyone that being an admin = responsibility, not flex. Also, midnight pizza and group rule-writing is surprisingly effective.

Bottom line: Castles can be great again, but only if we stop treating admin tags like cosplay crowns and start using them like the tools they’re meant to be. Until then, I’ll keep queuing — hoping the map loads, the ping stays decent, and the banhammer takes a nap.

I am kdcastle (the founder and owner of the Castles battlefield 4 game server)

I would like to set the record straight...for starters, the biggest issue plaguing MY server, is the infantile power-tripping admins who see fit to abuse their modicum of authority that has been granted to them.....BY ME, to harass, stalk, and annoy the players, without which, no gaming would even be possible! I have half a mind to fire the lot of you and run it without any admins at all!

When I gave you people this authority, I expected you to enforce kicks/bans fairly and without prejudice. This has NOT been the case. I've personally witnessed admins team killing players then kicking them without any justification whatsoever. I've also witnessed admins giving preferential treatment to those in their clans....not kicking or banning them because they are their friends, but kicking/banning those whom they are not friends with. This kind of kindergarten schoolyard behavior needs to stop!

There has been so much banning, in fact, that the ban list is now FULL which is what gave rise to this issue in the first place! I made you people admins so that you could enforce the rules of the servers fairly and responsibly, such that the integrity of the server shall be preserved. I did NOT make you admins  so that you could bully players at your whim. Start acting like ADULTS! If you continue to act like children I will begin to treat you like children and you will be receiving time-outs for misbehaving, just as is routinely done in preschool!
