Bought Battlefield 4 premium via the Origin website, content not available in PS store (PS3)

Hi,

My situation: I play Battlefield 4 on my PS3 from Belgium. I always use battlelog.battlefield.com simultanious whilst playing on my PS3. I decided that I wanted to upgrade my account to Premium, so I followed the advertisement on the battlelog. I've bought Premium, Origin offered a discount, for 35 euro. Now after 3 days, It still shows me a price in the playstation store and not 'download'. Also the ingame store gives the error 'There is no content available to download right now. Please try again later.'

Please don't tell me that I should've bought it through the playstation store? My battlelog account says I'm Premium, but I can't download the content on my Playstation 3.

I logged in on the Origin website using my PSN, so It should work on this platform too!

Kind regards,

A frustrated Battlefield 4 fan

  • You are not going to like this but digital purchases via Origin are only for PC.  If you play on PS3 you must purchase digital content via the PSN Store or via a brick and mortar store like GameStop\Game, etc.  Since you have mistakenly purchased digital content on Origin  and you play on console you will need to contact a Game Advisor who can void your purchase and credit your account.  You can speak to a Game Advisor here:  EA Customer support:  https://help.ea.com/contact-us

1 Click on the following link: https://help.ea.com/contact-us
2 Make sure you are flogged in (top right corner)
3 Click on the blue button "Contact a Game Advisor"
4 Enter the name of your game or product (or "Origin" for account-related issues) and click "Find Solutions"
5 Select the type of issue and the platform you play on, and click on "Find Solutions".
6 Click on the blue button "I still need help" if the FAQ articles do not apply to your situation.
7 Select a contact option. Note that you may get different contact options depending on your country.

    Hello NielsDutet,

First of all, I would like to let you know that if you purchase any game on Origin, it will only be available on PC.

I suspect that the Premium you bought is for the PC version. I see that you don't own a PC version of Battlefield 4 but you still have a Premium membership for it.

What happened in your case is that you bought Battlefield 4 Premium through Origin for "PC Download". This means, this Premium membership will be linked to your Battlelog account but only for PC. (Check this picture for a reference.)

Therefore, you must either buy the base game for PC, so that your Premium subscription can work on PC or alternatively you will have to buy Battlefield 4 Premium through PSN Store.

I will try to contact an advisor right now, thanks.

Maybe it's a good remark to clearly seperate the two, because it was very confusing to buy the membership.

You make efforts to let people use the battlelog as a second screen (which I do and like), they advertise Premium, with effect, and now you tell me that I bought content for a PC ? Whilst it clearly says on my profile I'm a PS3 player AND that I logged in on the website via the option 'Log in with PSN'.

My opinion is that these kind of things should not be possible, or it should mention clearly that it's not cross-platform.

    Thanks anyway

I hope that the EA advisor can help me out. Will wait to check the 'solved' button on ragnarok013's solution until I have spoken to the advisor.

I now see that the Origin website is for PC-content, I just think it is very, very misleading and that I can't be the only one. I took some screenshots of the path I followed from the soldier's Loadout to the actual purchasing. Like you pointed out, the only sign that I was updating my account for a platform I'm uberhaupt not playing on, was the little grey sentence PC-download.

Who would think that If you log in with your PSN, that it won't be available on your PSN.

I'll report back, so hopefully I can help some fellow gamers

Problem fixed by following ragnarok013's steps. The EA advisor was very patient, helpfull and friendly. He gave me a refund on Origin, I can already see the refund on the Origin account, I will immediatly buy it on the Playstation Store.

I am very happy that your problem was able to be solved by the Game Advisor.  They have solved many problems for me so I gladly recommend them.

  • hey

je moet naar playstationstore gaan, dan ga je naar zoeken, typ je battlefield in.

dan zie je de lijst van battefield contents staan, kan je ze downloaden gratis als je premium hebt
