Campaign Not Working

There is a HUGE glitch in the campaign mode. On the VIP map towards the end I died and now the game will not load into the next scene. The screen is black with the loading bars at the top right. I can hear sounds, but no image.

This happens in the VIP mission and I cannot find any way to continue the game.

Any ideas?

Try a hard reset on your PS3, and see if that helps.

    1. Turn off PlayStation 3
    2. Hold the power button down; the system will turn on and turn off once again
    3. Once the System has been shut down, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps
    4. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button
    5. You will be prompted to plug in your controller via USB and then hit the PS button
    6. The Recovery menu will pop up
    7. Select Restore File System

This will delete any corrupt files off of your system. It won't delete any game data.

This did not work...I did it twice.  The screen goes from the guys talking on the ship and then starts to load.  The sound works and I can hear my gun firing when I pull the trigger, but there is no video, only the bars in the top right corner that show the loading.

This is really frustrating and I have seen numerous other posts about this very thing happening without any solution.  When will this actually be taken seriously and fixed.  We all payed a lot of money for this game and it just doesn't seem right that it doesn't work as it should.

Why...why...WHY did they stray from the excellent game of BF2!?  Perhaps DICE should look to the past to see what direction they should take toward their next BF game.  In the meantime, I'll just wait for a solution to this blatant problem with the game.

OP BF4 is insanely resource needy on the PS3, try turning off your media server and see if the situation improves. To turn off the PS3 media server Go to >Settings>Network Settings>Media Server Connection and DISABLE!
