Can you change soldier class in game without dying?

Hi all, Dumb question, no doubt, but can you change soldier class mid-game without dying? For example, eh egg n watching the scoreboard I’ve seen someone change from Assault to Medic but their deat...

    @KBAYSTSB You can do it in BF1 by picking up another classes kit. Other than that, you'd need to die or redeploy.

    I've never actually considered whether it'd change the icon on the scoreboard but it makes sense if it does.
