Can you counter a counter knife?

As far as I know, you can counter a counter-knife attack but it is a really precise action in a very short time window. The animation should be a "punch" after a prompted counter-knife animation.
Please keep in mind that I am not a developer and that Answer HQ is not the right place to demand an official statement regarding game mechanics.
