Cannot connect to any BF1 servers

Hello. Was working fine up until xbox live went down like two weeks ago and now I cannot connect to any servers. Typically the game will start loading and then disconnect me after like 10-20 seconds and put me back in server browser, displaying all servers.

- Live gold is up to date

- 150mbps download, 120mbps upload wired connection (I’ve tried restarting multiple times)

- Servers are clearly not down because other people on my friends list are playing

- Certain times the game will load and I’ll get in for like 1 minute but then it will kick me

- Certain times if I just keep trying after like 20-30 attempts i’ll get in a game but I have no idea how to replicate it

I’ve tried the following:

Clearing cache

Deleting save data

Restarting both router and modem

Factory resetting xbox

Reinstalling BF1

This makes absolutely no sense to me and this has been going on for weeks now. How do I fix this?

  • Actually fixed the issue by changing my router from bridge mode to normal mode. Kind of strange that I was able play fine on bridge mode and it suddenly stopped working, but I am good now! Thank you!

  • Also worth noting it’s not my connection because I am able to play other games online with friends no problem.

@S41NTFeare is your xbox ethernet/wifi connection set up correctly? seems like a DNS / IP problem: set your connection accordingly with your lan parameters like static ip / subnet mask / gateway AND dns which i suggest you to use the google ones 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
maybe one of the devices connected on your lan network has a fixed ip which may be the same your xbox is aquiring via DHCP (automatic ip assignment done by your router/modem), same ip = ip conflict => random/no connection at all.
let me know if this solved your issue and mark it "as solved" 🙂
    cheers

  • @OttoVP I've done this 8888 and 8844 and my lag and ping rates have been going through the roof lately now don't give me that troubleshoot crap none of it helped I think it's a recent bug that's occuring more and more with console players, because a lot of the people I've talked through game chat and my mates they say their have exactly the same issue because last week ping rates and lag was next to nothing now all of the sudden my ping is going up to 1400 which is getting pretty annoying, I hope EA do an update soon.

    @BF1Informer
    EA is releasing a patch.

Google dns and the 1.1.1.1 one are the fastest around. tested. if not on your side it's your ISP problem

FYI i'm a volunteer. i do it for free, for the players and in my spare time. If you don't like my post just scroll down 🙂
