Cannot Unlock Assignment "Open Fire"

I have been trying for a few rounds now, and I still have been unable to unlock my L85A2...  I have done the following... Assault ribbon x3 Get a kill with pistol in a round Get a kill with...

 same here. tryed all kinds of nades and pistols. doubled the amount of nessesary kills- with the same result. im quitely pissed
