Can't connect to ea servers. Xbox one.
I just bought the xbox one and bf4. I downloaded/installed the game and the campaign works fine, but everytime i go to play multiplayer i get the message: "You have lost connection to the ea servers....

Hey, I got it to work!
Here is what I did:
1. Uninstalled game completely (go into games and apps, "start"button on BF4, delete)
2. Turn off internet (Settings > Network)
3. Reinstall game from disc, should take approx. 30 min. Don't play the game while it's installing.
4. Turn on internet in settings
5. Launch game, you will be prompted to update, accept the update then wait for it to fully install.
6. Launch game, and then it was working for me! No lag, played conquest, working flawlessly.
When the internet was on, it prompts for you to update before the game installs, then takes FOREVER to install and then fails to work online. When internet is disabled, it installed MUCH FASTER.

I got the game Friday and played all the way up until 1 hour ago. Now I am getting this message. Pretty lame.
- Ok I thought I had fixed it but then the issue returned. I got it to work again by repeatedly loading and quitting BF4 and eventually it worked. I think the servers are just getting hammered right now and the only way to "retry" joining is to quit and reopen the game.
I tried the uninstall thing just like you showed did not work for me

why is EA not giving clear answers and only saying they are fixing the problem. are they going to send out a patch? when? I paid $64 for the xbox 360 version, $10 upgrade to xbox one and $50 for premium. that's $132.68 with taxes (7%). I paid that for a game I cannot even play. They should be sued for an expensive non-working product.

Cant wire directly to my router considering i have a dual band n wirless netgear router it shouldnt matter im getting a great connect but cant connect to the ea servers
Havent been able to connect for a couple days i was able to connect the fjrst weekend of launch
Guys set up a static IP on the xbox one - network then manual settings...
then on your router open up the ports listed on this site

- if you have a child account on origin you may not be able to login online with EA games as for some reason they are restricted. I had to contact EA online chat and ask for his child xbox gamer tag to be linked to my adult origin account and this fixed it. You will lose data though, for example on FIFA 14 you will lose all your coins and Ultimate team and have to start again... So in summary check on your xbox1 when the game is loaded and look under the origin account settings. If it mentions a parents email address then you have a child account on origin. This problem does not effect the xbox360 version of EA games just xbox1
So, you're saying when it prompt you to Install the update before the game starts to install - Decline it and ONLY when you launch the game will it then ask you again for the update, Is this where you accept the update or not? HELP, UNDERSTOOD IT TILL THE END LITTLE BIT AND I GOT CONFUSED?
It takes longer when connected to internet because of the DRM it has, when your on internet the console scans your disc then (if it decides its an authentic copy) it will DOWNLOAD the game to your console, thats why it takes forever. When youre offline itll just install from your disc LIKE IT ALWAYS SHOULD. Remember it not nearly the same to copy 30 gigs of data than to download it off the internet.
