Cant connect to multiplayer in Trail access

I have the exact same problem with the TRIAL: single player works fine, multiplayer crashes shortly into map load regardless of connection method: matchmaking, server browser or recent games.
I have lost 5 hours of trial period being stuck in the interface waiting, connecting, appearing offline, trying to quit game, crashing, forwarding router ports and NOT being able to play one second of multiplayer.
Maybe there is some sort of conflict with Oculus, Steam, Nvidia Experience or other software components?
Does the trial multiplayer work for anybody at all?
Did anybody with this issue manage to play multiplayer after buying the full version? - I would probably buy it if I this issue is only related to the trial.
System: recent Win 10 + GTX1080 with slightly dated i5-2500K, 12GB ram.
Really?!!!!!
So, I took the chance and bought the full version at a reduced price.
The game immediately updated with no apparent download. No restart of origin or reboot whatsoever. Going to multiplayer and it works first try.
What a waste of time EA!!!
