Can't get game to start after install is completed

We purchased battlefield 4 for Xbox 360. We installed the game according to the instructions but when we select play game, it starts the intro but then goes to a screen with lightening and thunder and has 3 little bars in the upper right corner. It acts like it is loading something but never gets beyond that point. I looked on the forums and faqs for suggestions. I've deleted the game and installed it again but it still doesn't work. Any suggestions?
