go to /Electronic Arts\Battlefield 4\__Installer\vc\vc2012Updates\redist and reinstall vcredist_X64 if you have a 64bits pc or vcredist_86 is you dont. It fixes it for me

Issue still present. Already repaired both x86 and x64 to no avail.

    Please advise.

Updates: after repairing both the x64 and x86, I went to the game properties and settings in origin, forced the x86 and the game is working.

Maybe for some x64 hardware the libraries simply don't work... or maybe there's some other solution but this did the trick for me.

What worked for me was to open up origin and right click on B4 and go to game properties. Then select programs x86 as the folder you want the game too launch from. Exit out and launch the game.

    Hi @MattInAustralia

Are you lost here? This is a Battlefield 4 part of Answers HQ. If you have a question about Sims 4, you should post there.

  • 9 years later....

I encountered this issue for the first time.   Tried all of the solutions to below no avail, but came across this recommendation on another forum and it worked.  Basically downloaded and ran all of the vc_redist update and service pack files from 2010, 2012, 2013 and one file covering 2015,2016 and 2019  from the Microsoft support site.  Pre-2010 are no longer supported.

Conveniently, they can all be found here at this link:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads-2647da03-1eea-4433-9aff-95f26a218cc0

For some it was an install and others it was a repair.  Whole process took about 10 minutes.

Note: that these files (MSVCP110.dll and MSVCR110.dll)  are found in the C:\Windows\System32 and C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ directories.  I verified that they were, in fact, missing.

Now the game plays in both x86 and x64 modes.

Big question is how did this happen?  This is the first time I've played BF4 in a long while.  Did not have any issues with BFBC2 or BF3.

I'm closing this thread to stop it from being necroed.

If you have any issues with Battlefield, please make a new topic about your problems and what kind of steps you have tried to solve them.
