Change in key bindings ineffective (Gas mask in vehicle)

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have "T" as the Interact and Enter/Exit vehicle key. Enter a vehicle/stationary weapon (with the new key set; T), and then exit the vehicle (again with T)
What happens when the bug occurs? The soldier will always exit the vehicle with the gas mask ON, if entered the vehicle with it OFF (and the other way around). Exiting the vehicle wearing the gas mask hinders aiming.

Yes, I did go through all the key bindings to make sure there were no same use of the Enter/Exit vehicle and Gas mask key.
In the "In Transport" tab(in Key bindings), the standard key for gas mask in vehicle is set to "T", and even though I changed this, it does not seem to actually do the change.
I imagine this is where the bug lies: even though the key is changed, the game wants to put on/off the gas mask in a vehicle, when I press "T", even though I have set "T" to mean Exit vehicle.
The result being BOTH exiting the vehicle AND wearing the gas mask, and thus being unable to aim right away.
