China Rising DLC problem

I have new copies of Battlefield 4 for my PS3 and PS4.  I tried to use the redeem codes for both games and it says that they have already been redeemed, but I have never used the codes.  I go to help.ea and they wouldn't help me unless I had the receipts of proof of purchase.  I told them I could not find the receipts but had my bank statement; however I did not want to share that information because it is privy to me.  This is the first time a DLC code has not worked for me.  I can't believe this is how EA treats loyal customers. All I want is for both my redeem codes to work so I can play online with my friends  Is that too hard for a big company like EA to do?
