What kind of computer setup are you running? If the computer just turns off and doesn't do the "shutting down..." message it sounds like your power supply can't put out enough juice for all your components and keep going. List your specs
-AMD Phenom II X4 955 Processor 3.2 GHz
-Win 7 64 bit
-16 GB ram
-Geforce GTX 580
-ASRock Fatality Board
-900w power sup.
Runs BF3 maxed out no prob.
I have the same issue! my computer plays all games at max no problem so i really dont think its a problem with my PSU.. but after 10-20 minutes of gaming it shuts my computer off randomly ☹️.
i even kept an eye on temps and there all fine as well

I am having the same problem. Everything seems to work fine, but my computer will reboot randomly. I only have this problem with this game and I can run most games on ultra settings. Specifically, the game will run fine for periods of time ranging from 15 minutes to 45 minutes, then the computer suddenly turns off and boots up again.
Originally, I thought the issue was with the RAM as I recently purchased new RAM just for bf4. However, I did not have this problem during the beta and the RAM was installed in my computer at that time. So I doubt it is an issue with the memory. I am running memtest 86 right now to make sure.
I have checked to make sure that there are no temperature problems. I am using the newest nvidia driver 331.65. Again, I can play any other game right now just fine.
I have posted my specs below. Sorry, don't have access to computer while running memtest.
Very frustrating because I cannot play the game as I can rarely finish a match. I am worried that it is an issue with the power supply. Let me know if there is any other information I can provide. Please help!!!
PC Specs

2) G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Now after playing through the shutdowns after a while my bf4 wont even get into a game. its begins to load the level then just instantly closes with no error or anything. Ive tried restarting, and running CCleaner. about to try repairing bf4 ☹️

I never had this problem not with any PC that I used before. A game should never shut a PC down, nor that it restarts it.
This BF4 game trigers something which makes my PC goes silent and restarts itself after it stays quiet alittle! It is very weird to me!!
This problem happened first with BF4, but let me share where it exactly happend in the game, because I only past that point couple of times! lol
First of all, my copy of BF4 was bought and downloaded from EA Origins. I did not choose which copy to download, it was set to default so it must have downloaded the 64bit automatically.
The game runs nicely with great awesome graphics until I reached the TNT box in the very beginning of the game to blast my way out and climb the hill next, once I reach that box, my monitors go blank and the no signal sign appears, I could hear the system Fans go loud for just abit then everything goes very quiet then my PC restarts itself with that known single beep after few seconds, it will hold at the regular windows command message where it say that the PC was shut down incorrectly and it asks u if u want to continue normally or to go to the safe mode. I always choose to load windows normally and once am back to Windows, nothing comes on there, no error messages or anything!!! as if nothing just happend!!!.
The second point which I never got past it, is once I climb that hill and I start shooting at the enemy troops and vehicles, it happens again.
But thats about it.
I also want to share that I removed the whole game and then downloaded COD:Ghosts and finished playing the whole story mode with its default settings without changing a thing and it was smooth and easy, BBBBBBBUT, the same **bleep** happend on Ghosts too but only in the Multiplayer, and it happened randomly and not like BF4 in the story mode "Campaign".
So, Since BF4 did not work for me, I decided to just stick to Ghosts multiplayer even with its glitches until I find a solution to this, especially since the restarts happen randomly, meaning, that sometimes they do, other times they dont. I did something which made the restarts go little less, its when I changed all of the ghosts graphics settings to low and normal, there were things that I even turned off, I cant remember what they were, with all of that, problem did not go any where. But at least, I could play the game for longer periods of time.
I also wanna add one more thing here, which I only tried 3 days ago, I wanna say that I went to Start>Control Panel>System>Advanced System Settings>"Performance" Settings>Advanced>Advanced>Change> and I put a tick on "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives."
Now I dont really know why it was on manual settings back there, but until now and for 3 days now, Ghosts Multiplayer is on high graphics settings and its doing okay, but I will come back here in case anything goes wrong again.
Last thing is, even with the last thing that I did with the paging file, I went back and downloaded BF4 again hoping it will work like Ghosts did and tried it back, and it shut my PC off at the very same point, at that damn TNT box, a **bleep** game.
Guys, please let me know if theres a fix for this. - ApprovedAnonymous12 years ago
Ok guys, I'm happy to say that I think I've got it fixed on my own,
The tricky part in this is that am not really sure which was causing it but am gonna share with you what I did step by step:
1. I've read a lot about overheating and it got me really scared, so it made me open up the PC case and cleaned alittle bit, so I blew off the dust and checked the CPU, I didn't really have to put any new cooling solution there. Also checked the fans and cleaned them up. I did not really notice anything wrong. All fans were running just fine. The only thing is that they sound better now! lol.
2. Since I installed everything myself, I remember when I first worked on my mainboard, the MB default RAM CL Speed were set to 1333, while my actual RAM CL speed is 1600, and I had the settings changed to match my actual ram speed. But since I flashed to the stupid F4 BIOS recently, I missed checking back on those settings. When I did, I found that the RAM CL speed was shifted back to the MB defaults which pissed me off.
I read a lot about my mainboard problems, and this was its worst. Not to mention that the latest F4 Bios version is $HIT and kinda messed my MB up.
3. I then and for the final thing I did and before I put the cover of the case back, I removed the four RAMs and jumped the MB, after like 10 mins, I put the DIMMS back and covered the case back up.
Those three things that I did fixed the problem, but don't ask me which one did it!.
Now both games run just fine at their highest settings without any problem .
Good luck guys, I know that I took awhile to fix this but I didn't really have the time to work on it, besides, I still think that with all the things that I did, a game should never be able to shut a pc down or restarts it, that's just not right.
Anyways, just wanted to share what I did, once again, good luck.
