I was playing Hardline fine earlier today. This evening I have had almost constant packet loss. New router, more than adequate internet, great ping.
Generally I am the only one using it while gaming. Given our bandwidth it's not really an issue. The requirements for online gaming are rather low. How much bandwidth is needed for BFH?
Packetloss is generally an issue when you max out your connection or you have too many incomming/outgoing tcp/udp connections. Any broadband connection should be fine.
Besides your computer it could also simply be a problem with the server / backend. If there's no problems in some servers sometimes during the day this is the most likely option.
I appreciate your help, but could you clarify this statement: "it could also simply be a problem with the server / backend. If there's no problems in some servers sometimes during the day this is the most likely option."
Are you saying that the problem lies with EA? I have had a rather miserable experience with all Battlefield games since BF4. BF3 played beautifully and still does to this day. I am actually able to kill people. BF4 has been a nightmare from the beginning. When I first tried BFH it was smooth for the first few hours - I played during the afternoon. During the evening it was horrendous and has been ever since.
I just don't understand why this is the case. I don't have this problem with other online shooters. They play beautifully.
I really want to like Hardline. It's different, but after falling in love with BF3 and being burned by BF4 and now having issues with Hardline. It's not positive. And I really want Battlefront to work.
I just ran 1,000 pings. 0% packet loss. Some spikes but no loss.
