There are several active DC servers out there but you need to play them with the original CD version of BF1942, not with Origin version.

Many thanks for your reply but as stated above I have the original disc's. The case has several EA logo's on it and the disc's have EA also, dated 2002.
The front Logo however does say EA CLASSICS, I bought it preloved as one day taking the disc out of the case from the very first I bought the disc cracked.
I did not need to reload to play from the preloved but it is probably a re release, but as stated above the date says 2002.
This should be the correct one?
