This is disgusting..

I've been playing Battlefield 4 since 2015. Took a few years off, came back around the time Battlefield 6 was ramping up—and I’m honestly disgusted by what this game has become.

The servers are constantly full, but not with the community that made BF4 what it is. Instead, it's just endless low-level players who bought the game during a sale, or after watching some streamer hype it up as the “ultimate sandbox FPS.”

These are players coming straight from COD, Fortnite, CS:GO, and other twitch shooters. They don’t revive. They don’t PTFO. They don’t use their class roles. They hop in a tank, drive it into a wall, and then quit. It’s like every match is a tutorial. A glorified bot match — just with real humans who have no idea what they’re doing.

EA and DICE created this problem — and now they’re ignoring it
Let’s be honest: this isn’t just random. This all started when BF6 was on the horizon. Battlefield content was exploding on YouTube and Twitch. Streamers were farming nostalgia with BF4 clips. EA ran massive sales on the game. Suddenly, thousands of new players flooded in, thinking BF4 was going to be their next “viral moment.”

And now the servers are trashed. But EA/DICE? Completely silent.

No matchmaking filters for experience level

No server browser tools to separate vets from brand-new accounts

No moderation or server support

No response to the constant complaints

They let their marketing and influencer push destroy the quality of one of the last good Battlefield titles—and now that the money’s been made, they’ve moved on.

This isn’t gatekeeping — it’s about protecting the game
We’re not saying new players shouldn’t be welcome. We were all low-level once.

But Battlefield 4 was built on teamwork, awareness, and pacing. That’s all gone when half the lobby treats Conquest like Call of Duty Free-for-All.

Veteran players are stuck in a cycle of broken teamplay and frustrating matches, and there’s no way to filter or escape it. That’s the real issue.

What the community is saying:
“Servers are full but it’s like I’m playing with 30 people who’ve never touched an objective.”
— r/Battlefield_4

“EA hyped BF4 to death with streamers and now it's just a mess of low-rank players doing nothing.”
— Reddit

“Why isn’t there a single tool to help separate experienced players anymore? This is just lazy from DICE.”
— EA Forums

TL; DR:
BF4 servers are flooded with low-level, hype-driven players

Teamplay and match quality are constantly suffering

EA and DICE caused this by pushing the game during BF6 hype

No action has been taken to support long-time players

We kept this game alive for 10 years, and this is how we’re repaid

If DICE or EA cared at all about BF4’s legacy, they’d offer tools to protect the experience for returning vets. But they don’t. They cashed in on the hype and left the rest of us behind.
