"directx device creation error"

" directx device creation error " apears when trying to launct BF4, BF4 does not start.  The error message indicates I need DirectX 10. But I in fact have DX11 so this should work. If I reinsta...

    EA support had asked me to run Windows update.

    That seems to have resolved the issue. No more DirectX Device Creation Error.

    So now I'm back to having fun with the game.

I realize you have reinstalled DirectX, I do think it is worthwhile running this specific DX installer: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4\__Installer\directx\redist\DXSETUP.exe

You mention the game working until after the next reboot. This points to something loading at boot time causing an issue. Try a clean boot to see if that has an effect: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
