Well, I started getting this error after a few days of the BF4 beta. I have tried doing clean installs of the game, my OS, and of course graphics drivers. I tried underclocking my factory overclocked EVGA GTX 780 liquid cooled card. Nothing changed, once I started getting this error, it would happen in every game I played, though in Mass Effect 3 and Skyrim, the games didn't completely crash but would freeze for a few seconds over and over again and then come back. I tried testing all my other hardware (Prime 95, MemTest 86, etc etc) all were fine.
I finally contacted EVGA about it, told them the same, and they determined rather quickly that it was almost certainly a defective video card. I should have known this as Mass Effect 3 was showing this issue a few weeks before but I dismissed it as I had just upgraded to Windows 8.1 from 8. After I reinstalled the video drivers, the issue seemed to cease, but then after the beta it came back HARD in all my games, just like some of you guys. EVGA RMA'd my card, I should have the new one back in time for the release date, but you guys may wanna check out with your video card manufacturers as well and see what they have to say. In my case this issue was not getting better no matter what I tried, and I imagine it may be the same for some others as well.
I've tried every suggestion given since the release of BF3. Still not fixed. And hold on... Let me try playing BF3 now... Yea. Same error.
