I've been getting this error since forever, I have tried everything that support has thrown at me. Hell the first time I installed the game I had a ../Documents/Battlefield 4/Settings folder . I figured on launch the game would create it again so I deleted the folder. Now I can't get the settings folder to generate at all. Every time I launch the game I get the following Error Message:
DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG("The application's device failed due to
badly formed commands sent by the application. This is an design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed.").GPU:
"NVIDIA GeForeceGTX 570', Driver 33165
Everyone keeps saying set it to fullscreen/windowed mode. I would if I can get past even launching the game at all...
My Specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit)
Intel i7 2600k
Kingston HyperX 4GBx2 (x2) for a total of 16gb of memory (4x4GB)
EVGA GTX 570 HD Superclocked (x2)
MSI P67A-GD65 (B3)
Acer S231HLbid Monitor (x2) (connected with DVI + HDMI)
Thermaltake Black Widow 850W PSU
Some things I've tried (I may be missing some): (tried multiple times with each)
Restart computer.
Reinstall Battlefield 4 from scratch.
Try different Nvidia Driver versions (331.65, 331.58, 331.40)
Rerun the DirectX installer in the ../Origin Games/Battlefield 4/_Installer folder
Rerun each installer in the ../Origin Games/Battlefield 4/_Installer folder
Repair install.
Clear ram using a shortcut with "%windir%\system32\rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks" as its path
Underclock GPU to stock clock for the gtx 570
I've noticed people have said that they have this problem in Battlefield 3. I have no problem playing Battlefield 3 at all.
