I had this problem but I think its stable now!
What I've done? Everything!
- Updated to latest nvidia driver: 331.93 (and rebooted my pc 3 ou 4 times).
- Deleted all the .cab files located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4\__Installer\directx\redist (leaving 2 .dll files and 1 .exe).
- Deleted the PROFSAFE_PROFILE file located at: Documents\Battlefield 4\settings.
- Set my graphics to "Medium".
Maybe it will help you guys!
---------------------------- EDIT 12/09/13 --------------------------------------
After todays patch (1Gb) my game started crashing again, so this time I did the same thing I've done before but step by step.... Conclusion?
Definitely is a graphic settings issue! Change those settings until you find one that works for you ("medium" for me).
Pay a little more attention at the definition and refresh rate of your monitor, I really think that there is a problem going on with those frequencies (59.94 Hz and so on).
Maybe it will help you guys!

even with the new patch i get
DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed withDXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG ("The application's devicefailed due tobadly formed commands sent by the application.
This is an design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed "). GPU: "AMDRadeon R9 200 Series", Driver 13.11 (13.25.18-131129a-165578E-ATI)hopefully they r working on a fix for this famous Error...I tried almost everything to fix it..exept a complete new Windows installation (i will do that this week) and underclocking my GPU i will not do that just to make this Bugfield4 work.
Anyone has a statement if EA is working on it?
Or r they just giving a d***?

Same here. I've never had this problem before, it started with the latest update

Just to give feedback on my troubleshooting.
My system is a I5-4670, 16GB RAM, Samsung SSD 840 240GB, Soundblaster Platinum, Asus R9 280, PSU is a BeQuiet! 750W.
This should be good enough for the Game!
I Tried so far:
-checked RAM for faults - no failure found
- reinstalled DirectX via Microsoft and via BF4 folder - BF still crashing
- tried all GPU Drivers available - BF still crashing
- installed all new drivers for all HW - BF4 still crashing
- Reinstalled WIN7 64BIt (formanted the SSD) - First day BF4 runs without crashes ...second day BF4 crashes constantly
- Checked all possible Information sources...even used the useless EA HotlineChat (they have absolutely no idea what they r doing) they requested to run BF4 via Chrome instead of Firefox - BF4 still crashing
- I will not underclock my GPU this is something absolutely ridiculous to do to get BF4 running!
- the only thing that is still the same is BF4...-> root cause is BF4!!!!!!
-EA get this fixed ...
