DirectX GetDeviceRemovedReason failed
I am *beyond* furious right now. I held off on buying BF4 because it was a broken joke of a game. My friends finally caved in and bought it, so I did too. It played great the first night. The second night, with absolutely no changes in hardware OR software on my computer, no restarts, no automatic updates of any kind, it just stopped working. Fun fact: this error started happening exactly 2 hours, 21 minutes after the "Great Game Guarantee" expired... someone other than myself may find that funny.
DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_RESET ("The device failed due to a badly formed command."). GPU: "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670", Driver: 34448http://i62.tinypic.com/21ka6nn.jpg
This image is after I updated drivers to try to fix the issue. I have gotten the same exact error on 5 (yes, 5) different drivers, all properly installed with safemode DDU cleaning, fresh installing, and restarts every step of the way. I have absolutely no overclocking of any kind on my computer (because, honestly, these games are made for consoles who needs an OC?). Translation: I am not editing any clock speeds on my card as this is not a reasonable requirement to use any software, nor should stock clocks be an issue; I am not editing the Windows 7 registry for the same reason; I am not going to accept any "update your drivers" as a solution as it is clearly not a driver problem.
It's worth noting at this pont that every single other game I own works flawlessly, including (ironically) Battlefield 3.
[EDIT] appears I misunderstood this for an "official" support channel. I'll leave the thread open in case a community member has any ideas, but I'm really looking for an official response or refund.
